Women on the Wing

What is Women on the Wing?

“The great thing about this initiative is the empowerment of and friendships built with the women who get involved! Formally, our local mission is ‘To create opportunities and access for women who share a passion of the uplands, and inspire conservation through community, connection, and education.’ Our hope is that women will come out for a great day in a beautiful setting, enjoy the surroundings, learn about upland bird habitat and conservation, have fun, make new friends, and more!”

2026 Women on the Wing Program Details

Friday – Sunday January 23rd-25th: Tri Cities Sportsman Show – Come visit our Blue Mountain Pheasants Forever booth to learn more about Women on the Wing (WotW), meet other like-minded sportswomen, get to know us, ask questions, then shop with outdoor related vendors. Family friendly event!

March 21st: Miller Ranch Women’s Clay and Wing Shoot – Join us for a day of shooting, hunting, and spending time outdoors with a great group of women who don’t mind a little laughter mixed in with their trigger time. Bring your dog and let them stretch their legs post-season, or come without one—no dog required, and no one will judge. You’ll hunt in small groups, swap stories, and enjoy a relaxed day in the field.

The plan (give or take):

  • 10:00 am Optional clay shooting in the morning to knock the rust off
  • Group hunts of 3–4 women in 3 separate fields starting at 12:00 PM
  • A second group heads out at 2:00 PM
  • Only 18 spots available, because chaos has its limits

Whether you’re deadly accurate or just happy to be outside holding a shotgun, this day is about good company, fresh air, and having fun. Claim your spot and join us—we promise good laughs and even better memories.

Ticket options for members vs nonmembers.  Hunt only or add on clays.  Additional rounds of clays  can be purchased at the event.

WotW Committee Structure

The WotW Committee is set up like other Chapter committees where a Chairperson coordinates the committee events, utilizing committee members to assist in event facilitation.

The WotW Committee Chairperson is Ms. Jamie Wallace. Jamie is an enthusiastic upland hunter who is passionate about bird dogs, tailfeathers, conservation, and sharing the uplands with her fellow ladies. Jamie also serves on the Pheasants Forever, Columbia Basin Chapter Advisory Board.

Gear Swap

“Gear Swap” is a program designed to help empower women who want to enter the uplands but may
need a little help with gear. New or slightly used items are donated by other women for those who need
them, free of charge. This program is designed to have items recycled, repurposed, and re-loved by the
next owner. All women are encouraged to participate by either donating or taking an item they may
need. If you would like more information on what is currently in inventory, or have an item to donate,
please contact WotW Steering Committee Member Jamie Wallace by email at
wow@bmpf258.org.
